The Trustees are able to consider applications for grants from the following people:Artists (male or female), ie. painters, potters, sculptors and photgraphers, not performing artists. The Trustees are always pleased to see photos of the artist's work. Nurses (male or female), eg. SRN, SEN, medical carers or dental nurses in employment or retired, in hardship or with long-term sickness/disability. Gentlewomen - women over 18 years, experiencing hardship. Assistance has been given for the following : * a contribution towards setting up a new home after family breakdown
All applications will be considered on their merits. In our assessment of need we aim to be consistent and fair. Grants Donations are made, once only to each individual, for a specific item or purpose. Sometimes the Fund is able to make a contribution to a costly item such as an electric wheelchair or a computer. Applications cannot be considered unless a fully completed form is submitted. A supporting letter from a third party, such as a social worker or tutor, is also required. Once a grant has been made, no further applications can be considered. Ineligible Grants Grants cannot be considered for educational fees, nor for recurring expenses such as mortgage repayments, rent, fuel or phone bills, special diets, care home fees, private treatments, or to clear debt. An increase in grant applications in recent times is having a direct impact on the Fund's ability to meet demands and we regret that we cannot meet the needs of everyone who is eligible. Those who have a better chance of receiving a grant:- a) give detailed information about their background and specific need -and - b) apply also to other charities for contributions where sums over £400 are being requested. In hard times, charities can work together, each providing a small contribution to towards a larger sum. If you are not eligible for a grant from us, or you are eligible but would like to apply also to other charities, you may like to follow this link http://www.turn2us.org.uk Turn2us helps people access the money available to them - through welfare benefits, grants and other financial help. You can also call them on 0808 802 2000. Supporting Agencies A letter from a supporting agency, or third party, is strongly recommended, eg. doctor, social work agency. The application form must be completed in full, clearly explaining the background and needs. Any relevant paperwork, eg. invoices or quotations for home repairs /wheelchairs must be submitted.
