I have been reclaiming my energy by using acrylic, collage, sand, plastic, whatever I can find, to create these layered and textured images during my continuing journey of recovery from M.E.

Expressing myself through art has become an essential part of keeping myself healthy and just a little bit sane. I need to paint.

I am one of a collective of artists based at Studio Upstairs, a studio for people who, for various reaons, are unable to - or actively choose not to- use the existing arts institutions. Members, therapists and volunteers all practice their artwork in a supportive and non judgemental environment. The Eaton Trust very kindly donated money to me to attend extra sessions during a time when I was isolated and needed support. As a result of this I have gone on to exhibit in Easton Art Trail and the Wellspring Centre, both in Bristol. I will also be exhibiting with five other artists in group show in the Create Centre, Bristol, in March 2008.
