Katie CuddonA beneficiary of the Eaton Fund, Katie has taken up a residency at Newcastle University. Read about her achievements in the Artists' Profiles . Association of Charity Officers : AGM December 2007Marian Shaw (Chairman of the Trustees) attended this meeting, which was held at the offices of Herbert Smith, LLP. The highlight of the occasion was hearing Baroness Julia Neuberger, DBE, speaking on "Volunteers - the life Blood of Benevolent Funds" . Baroness Neuberger is a member of the Commission on the Future of Volunteering, which was about to report to the Government. Key Dates for applications for grantsPlease note that the date for grant -giving applications is 1st February 2008. Eaton Fund launch new websiteThe Eaton Fund's new website was launched in Autumn 2007 and has been well received. It is hoped that the website will raise the profile of the trust and lead to increased use by the public. In addition it is anticipated that our website will become our main mode of communication and the focal point for our work. New Trustee joins Eaton FundWe welcome Mr Tim Edwards ACIS to the Eaton Fund. Tim joins as a trustee of the Fund and has extensive experience in property and finance. He has high level ICT skills which will enable the Trustees to read and interpret their spreadsheets ! Eaton Fund at Charity ConferenceThe Eaton Fund is now a member of the Association of Charity Officers who help charities to help people. Marian Shaw attended their annual conference in September at the CASS Business School. The speakers were excellent and the day proved to be very useful. Talks covered "The Compact" on relations between the Government and the Voluntary Sector, updates on The Charities Act and on legal issues. Marian also attended a workshop on effective grant-giving.
